STATEMENT: Pride in Labour Responds to Minister for Women and Equalities' Statement

We are deeply saddened about the Minister for Women and Equalities’ statement in Parliament today. Time and time again The Labour Party has betrayed the trans community, and it’s happening yet again.

If you would like to help the trans community, please sign this petition: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/701159

The Supreme Court’s ruling has not provided clarity — it has created confusion, fear, and harm. It suggests that trans women are not welcome in women’s restrooms and denies trans survivors of domestic abuse access to lifesaving, gender-appropriate support services. Instead, it pushes them toward underfunded and often unsafe male services.

This is not equality. This is exclusion.

Pride in Labour calls on Labour’s leadership to reverse its endorsement of this ruling, to publicly reject the exclusionary agenda being legitimised in our name, and to work directly with trans people to repair the catastrophic damage already done.

Young people are the future of our society — and when they are denied the healthcare they need to thrive and live as their authentic selves, it is a tragedy for all of us.
