Join Pride in Labour's Big Conversation and make your voice heard
At Pride in Labour, we believe that real change starts with real conversations. For too long, the LGBTQIA+ community within the Labour Party has been without a strong advocate willing to speak up and challenge the status quo. That’s why we’re excited to introduce The Big Conversation – a new initiative aimed at giving you, the LGBTQIA+ Labour voters, a platform to share your thoughts, ideas, and aspirations for the future.
What is The Big Conversation?
The Big Conversation is about bringing together voices from across the LGBTQIA+ community to discuss what matters most to us. Whether it’s healthcare, representation, or equality within the party, we want to hear what you think needs to change.
Starting on Wednesday the 14th of August 2024, we’ll be dedicating our Twitter/X account to these critical conversations. Each day, we will post a question, prompt or discussion topic designed to spark dialogue and inspire action. From reflecting on the party’s progress to tackling the challenges ahead, The Big Conversation is your chance to be heard and influence Pride in Labour’s work.
Why your voice matters
We know that change doesn’t happen overnight. It happens when people come together, share their experiences and push for progress. The Labour Party has a proud history of fighting for LGBTQIA+ rights, but we can’t rest. Now, more than ever, we need to ensure that our voices are front and centre in shaping the party’s future.
By participating in The Big Conversation, you’re not just joining the discussion, you are also helping to set the agenda. Your input will guide our advocacy efforts, inform our strategies, and strengthen our community’s impact.
How to get involved
Getting involved in The Big Conversation is easy:
1. Follow us on Twitter/X: Make sure you are following us on Twitter/X to stay up to date with each day’s topic.
2. Join the discussion: When we post a question or prompt, share your thoughts in the comments. Your perspective is invaluable.
3. Spread the word: Use the hashtag #PrideInLabour to share the campaign with your networks. The more voices we have, the stronger we will be.
4. Join our forum discussion: As well as Twitter/X, we will have a dedicated forum category. Sign up for an account with us to join in!
What’s next?
Over the next ten days, we will be diving into the issues that matter most to you. We’ll be reflecting on the progress we’ve made, discussing the challenges we still face, and, most importantly, building a roadmap for the future. But this is just the beginning. The Big Conversation is an ongoing dialogue, and we are committed to keeping these conversations alive long after the campaign ends.
